Max Verstappen Scores Epic Comeback Victory at Miami Grand Prix

The inaugural Miami Grand Prix took place on Sunday, and Max Verstappen finished the race as its very first title winner. It was a close call between Verstappen and his title rival Charles Leclerc, but he managed to win by over three seconds. Verstappen didn’t come into the race as a clear favorite, because Leclerc took the pole position on Friday. Reliability problems stopped the Dutch driver from kicking off the race on the right foot, but he managed to make an impressive recovery after losing a lot of track time on Friday. After making an epic comeback, it seemed like Verstappen was cruising to an easy win, but his luck shifted after a late safety car was brought in. Leclerc edged closer to Verstappen with 10 laps to go, but he stood his ground and came out victorious. This marks the second consecutive win for Verstappen and puts him 19 points behind Leclerc, but he’s fully aware that the Red Bull team will have to work on their reliability issues so he could continue his domination for the rest of the season. “We still have issues we have to solve. We are quick but, as you can see, my Friday was terrible, which was not great if you want to have a good weekend… We just have to nail down a really positive weekend without issues,” said Verstappen after the race.
