Nathan Ake’s Goal Against Arsenal Sends Man City Into FA Cup’s Fifth Round

Arsenal and Manchester City are leading the Premier League rankings right now, and there was a lot of buzz leading up to their FA Cup face-off. The Gunners couldn’t stand their ground to Man City, and Nathan Ake single-handedly eliminated them from the FA Cup competition with his spectacular goal. Tensions were running high from the very start and it was clear no club will get an easy win on Friday at Etihad Stadium. After the goalless first half, Nathan Ake opened the scoring for Man City and eventually led his side to a 1-0 win. Man City’s manager Pep Guardiola admitted it was a tight game and praised Ake’s performance which led the team to another victory. "What a season he is playing. He controlled one of the toughest opponents in the Premier League… He is an exceptional guy, there was a period where he didn't play and he never complained once. As a manager you want players like Nathan,” said Guardiola. The latest face-off between Arsenal and Man City won’t impact their Premier League rankings, but they’re set to meet again at Emirates Stadium on February 15. Arsenal is out of the running for the FA Cup title following Friday’s loss, but they’re still leading the Premier League table, 5 points ahead of Man City.
