New Orleans Saints Hand Tom Brady His First Shutout Loss in 15 Years

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been on fire since the beginning of the season, but their winning streak couldn’t last forever. The New Orleans Saints handed them the most disappointing loss in recent memory on Sunday night, marking Tom Brady’s first shutout loss in 15 years. Saints scored a 9-0 victory over the reigning Super Bowl champions, and Brady wasn’t happy to see this one go. His frustration was visible when he smashed a tablet on the bench in the fourth quarter and later said it’s been a tough night and that they “didn’t do much of anything right”. The most disappointing part of the whole ordeal is that the Bucs finished the game with zero points. This marks Brady’s first shutout loss since 2006, when the New England Patriots were defeated by the Miami Dolphins. The Saint’s epic win is largely due to the team’s defensive efforts, and their defensive end Cameron Jordan explained the strategy that stopped Brady in his tracks. “We had to put it on the D-line. We installed a four-man rush front and we got after him. We hit him early, we hit him often and we sort of rushed him a few more times than he normally has been. I mean, to get Tom Brady – he's got one of the fastest releases in the game,” said Joran after the game.
