New York Rangers Complete 4-Game Sweep Against Washington Capitals

The New York Rangers gave it their all game after game since the start of the playoffs, and they continued their domination on Sunday night. Game 4 resulted in another win for the Rangers, and they easily cruised past the Washington Capitals to secure their spot in the second round. The Rangers scored a 4-2 win after Artemi Panarin opened the scoring with his go-ahead goal. Kaapo Kakko, Jack Roslovic, and Vincent Trocheck managed to score one goal each against Washington. This victory also wouldn’t have been possible without Igor Shesterkin, who made 23 saves for the Rangers. The New York Rangers coach Peter Laviolette praised his former team, the Washington Capitals, despite defeating them, saying they deserve a lot of credit for going through a lot this season. “You don’t get here unless you played hard, played well, and if you think about what they went through to get to the playoffs down the stretch in the end, and what they were dealing with, it’s a proud group over there,” said Laviolette. The New York Rangers are the first team to reach the second round, and they’ll face either the Carolina Hurricanes or New York Islanders in the Eastern Conference semi-finals.
