Nikola Jokic's Triple-Double Lead Denver Nuggets to Game 1 Win Against Miami Heat

The Denver Nuggets entered the NBA Finals as the clear front-runner for the title, and they’re living up to the hype so far. Nikola Jokic’a triple-double powered his team to a comfortable win in the opening game against the Miami Heat. The Nuggets cruised to a pretty easy 104-93 win on Thursday night, and Jokic was one of the players responsible for leading them to their latest triumph. With 27 points, 14 assists, and 10 rebounds, his triple-double was one of the highlights of Game 1, and he had great support from Jamal Murray who was right behind with 26 points. Jokic stayed as humble as ever after the game, saying his priority is to win and contribute to the team in any possible way. The Nuggets coach Michael Malone praised the player’s level-headed demeanor, adding he takes great joy in making his teammates look great. "I learned a long time ago the defense tells you what to do, and Nikola never forces it. One thing about Nikola is he takes great satisfaction in making plays for others… I don't think he cares if he scored 27 points or not. He cares that we're up 1-0,” he said post-game.
