Novak Djokovic Easily Defeats Andrey Rublev to Reach Australian Open Semis

Novak Djokovic has been on fire since the Australian Open kicked off, and he’s showing no signs of stopping. The 21-time Grand Slam champion easily defeated the tournament’s fifth seed Andrey Rublev to make it to the Australian Open semi-finals. Djokovic was ruthless in his latest face-off with Andrey Rublev in Melbourne and made us wonder if anyone can stand in his way after. Rublev simply couldn’t stand a chance to the former no. 1, who easily defeated him 6-1 6-2 6-4 in straight sets. Djokovic is currently chasing his record-equaling 22nd Grand Slam, and he scored his 26th consecutive win against Rublev, tying the Open-era record held by Andre Agassi. He said he couldn’t be happier with his tennis, and he’s feeling optimistic about the future. "I'm playing solidly from the back of the court and love these conditions. I'm going to keep going. I think it's important to be smart and wise with the body in these circumstances where it's more important to recover and get ready for the next challenge," he said post-match. Djokovic will face Tommy Paul in the semi-finals, while the second match will be played between Karen Khachanov and Stefanos Tsitsipas. The winners of these face-offs will make it to the Australian Open final, taking place on January 29.
