Nuggets Sweep Lakers to Make It To NBA Finals for the First Time

It took only four games for the Denver Nuggets to prove their domination against the Los Angeles Lakers and win the Western Conference finals. They easily made it to the NBA finals after this historic sweep, for the first time in the franchise history. It was a huge night for the Nuggets’ star player, Nikola Jokic, who passed Wilt Chamberlain for most triple-doubles in a playoff run, after scoring 30 points, 14 rebounds, and 13 assists. Despite his best efforts, it was still a narrow, 113-111 win. The Lakers were just two points behind thanks to LeBron James’s valiant efforts, who played for almost all 48 minutes, recording 40 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists. The Denver Nuggets coach Michael Malone said it means a lot to lift their first Western Conference trophy, but they won’t be satisfied until they win the whole thing. “But I speak for 17 players in that locker room and the entire organization: We are not satisfied. We're going to enjoy it for a moment, and I think it's going to be a hell of a plane ride home. But we have a lot of work to do,” said Malone post-game. The winner of the Eastern Conference final is yet to be determined, and the Miami Heat is leading the series against the Boston Celtics 3-1.
