Odell Beckham Jr. Reportedly Being Released by Cleveland Browns

Odell Beckham Jr. has been playing through serious injuries since the beginning of the NFL season, but it seems he’s ready to pump the breaks. According to multiple reports, the Cleveland Browns are planning to release the wide receiver this week. Rumors about Beckham’s potential release started circling around shortly after he was excused from practice for two consecutive times this week. It also follows the viral video posted by his father Odell Beckham Sr., criticizing the team’s quarterback Baker Mayfield for repeatedly snubbing his son during the games, but Mayfield says he didn’t give it much thought. “I think a lot of it comes from his father's perspective. I think naturally he wants his son to succeed and I can’t blame him for that. I want Odell to succeed and that’s where we were at or at least so I thought,” Mayfield told the reporters. Beckham joined the Browns in 2019, as part of a trade with the New York Giants. During his first season with the team, he had 74 receptions for more than 1,000 yards and four touchdowns, but his next two seasons were plagued with injuries. He opened up about his struggles about a month ago and revealed he’s been playing with a torn labrum in his left shoulder for the past ten years.
