Petra Kvitova Wins Eastbourne International Ahead of Wimbledon

Wimbledon is finally kicking off, and Petra Kvitova is set to start the tournament with a bang. She's one of the favorites for the title after her great performance at Eastbourne International, where she defeated Jelena Ostapenko to win the title. Kvitova was truly in the top form at this tournament and cruised past the defending champion Ostapenko, 6-3 6-2, but she praised her opponent for standing her ground even after scoring an easy win. "This was a tough match, well done to Jelena. Playing on grass is very special for me and [especially] when you step on such a beautiful court as it is here. I enjoyed it a lot. It is really nice to play in front of people again - it is the best preparation for Wimbledon," said Kvitova. The 32-year-old tennis play has been struggling with form as of late, but her performance at Eastbourne proved to the world she's ready for a comeback. She already has two Wimbledon titles under her belt, after lifting the trophy at the All England Club in 2011 and 2014. Taylor Fritz defeated Maxime Cressy in the men's final to win his second Eastbourne title. Croatian duo Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic came out victorious in men's doubles, while Aleksandra Krunic and Magda Linette won the women's doubles title.
