Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham Honored with Golden Boy Award

Some of the biggest football stars of today are former recipients of the Golden Boy Award, and Jude Bellingham is following in their footsteps. The 20-year-old English football player, who’s currently a midfielder for Real Madrid, has been honored with this year’s Golden Boy Award. The Golden Boy Award is given by sports journalists to the most impressive young football players in Europe under the age of 21. The list of the most recent recipients includes Barcelona’s Pedri and Gavi and Man City’s Erling Haaland, but such football legends as Lionel Messi and Wayne Rooney also won this award in the past. Bellingham said that this honor inspired him to keep pushing the limits of his potential and hopefully win many more trophies. He also thanked the people who made it all possible. "I'd like to thank everyone who has been part of my journey so far at Birmingham, Dortmund, and now Madrid. It wouldn't be possible without them… Lastly and most importantly my family who give me the support and motivation and love every day to keep striving,” said the 20-year-old. Bellingham made his debut with Real Madrid earlier this year, after playing for Birmingham City and Borussia Dortmund. He’s also a member of the English national team and had represented his country at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
