Robert Lewandowski Leaves Bayern Munich for Barcelona

Shortly after signing Raphinha from Leeds United, Barcelona secured another star player. The Catalan team reached an "agreement in principle" with Bayern Munich to sign the Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, shortly after he expressed a strong desire to leave the German club. Barcelona’s ongoing efforts to strengthen their team continue with the signing of Lewandowski, whose upcoming contract is dependent on the player passing a medical. Bayern president Herbert Hainer confirmed they have come to a verbal agreement with Barcelona in an official statement. He added they’re incredibly grateful to Lewandowski for his contributions to the club and described him as an incredible player. Lewandowski’s departure from Bayern doesn’t come as a shocker because he was very open about his desire to leave Munich after his contract expires. “My story with Bayern has come to an end, I cannot imagine further good cooperation. I hope they will not stop me (from leaving) just because they can. A transfer is the best solution for everyone.” said Lewandowski. Lewandowski helped Bayern win its 10th straight Bundesliga title after scoring 50 goals in 46 games last season, bringing his total to 344 goals in 374 games. He joined the team in 2014 and holds the record as Bayern Munich’s second-highest scorer behind Gerd Muller.
