Ronnie O’Sullivan Signs Up for World Snooker Mixed Doubles Event

The World Doubles competition is returning to the snooker circuit for the first time in over three decades, and its line-up is pretty impressive. The world champion Ronnie O’Sullivan is leading the spectacular cast of snooker players taking part in this event this fall. O’Sullivan is joining the ranks of the world’s leading male snooker players, including Judd Trump, Neil Robertson, and Mark Selby. The list of female competitors includes Reanne Evans, Ng On Yee, Rebecca Kenna, and the world champion Nutcharut Wongharuthai. This event is set to take place at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes from September 24-25. The teams will be formed by a random draw taking place before the tournament, and they’ll face each other in a round-robin format, which will be followed by the big final, airing live on ITV. The WST chairman Steve Dawson said they’re looking forward to delivering a high-quality event, in the hope that it will become a regular fixture on the snooker circuit. "Snooker is a game for everyone, regardless of age, gender, and nationality… There is no reason why men and women can’t compete together and we are thrilled to have – for the first time – four women on our professional tour in the coming season,” said Dawson in a statement.
