Russell Wilson Signs Five-Year, $245 Million Deal with Denver Broncos

It’s only been a few months since Russell Wilson joined the Denver Broncos, but it seems he’s not going anywhere anytime soon. The superstar quarterback signed a blockbuster five-year deal with his current team, reportedly worth $245 million. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Wilson’s new contract comes with $165 million guaranteed, and it will keep him in Denver through the 2028 season. This puts his annual salary at $49 million, making him the second-highest paid quarterback right now, right behind Aaron Rodgers. Wilson’s new deal with the Broncos doesn’t come as a shocker because he made it clear he wants to stay in Denver and hopefully help the Broncos win the Super Bowl. “I'm excited to be here. I know I want to be here for a long, long time, hopefully, the rest of my career. It's been a blessing with these guys,” he said back in July. Wilson joined the Broncos back in March after a headline-making trade with the Seattle Seahawks, which included two first-round picks, two second-round picks, a fifth-round pick, quarterback Drew Lock, defensive lineman Shelby Harris, and tight end Noah Fant. Wilson spent almost a decade in Seattle before his exit, helped them win Super Bowl XLVIII, and ended up being named to nine Pro Bowls.
