Sadio Mane Leads Senegal to Their Third Africa Cup of Nations Final

The Africa Cup of Nations is in the full swing right now, and we finally know what awaits in the big final game. Sadio Mane led Senegal to their third Africa Cup of Nations final on Wednesday night when they defeated Burkina Faso 3-1. Senegal came into the game as a clear favorite, and created a lot of chances, especially in the second half. Abdou Diallo and Idrissa Gueye put Senegal in the lead before Burkina Faso’s Blati Toure narrowed the deficit. His sole goal wasn’t enough to give his team a much-needed comeback, and Sadio Mane eventually settled the victory for Senegal. The Liverpool striker believes this game shows the momentum his team has because it marks their second straight AFCON final, and they had to face a tough opponent to make it this far. “I think we deserved to win. I think you can see on my face how happy I am, which is completely normal. I am really proud personally and very happy for myself, my teammates, and the country," said Mane after the match. The Africa Cup of Nations final is set to take place on February 6, and Mane could face his Liverpool team-mate Mohamed Salah if Egypt reaches the final. They’ll first have to defeat the host country of Cameroon in the second semi-final match tonight.
