Sahith Theegala Claims His First PGA Tour Title at Fortinet Championship

It’s been a few years since Sahith Theegala joined the PGA Tour, and his wait for his first title is finally over! The 25-year-old golfer lifted his first PGA Tour trophy at the Fortinet Championship in Napa, California, defeating the competition by two shots. Theegala came into the final round on Sunday with two shots clear, and he managed to stay in the lead. After picking up three shots in his first five holes, he managed to finish with seven birdies and three bogeys in a round of 68, winning his very first PGA Tour Title. This victory was a huge deal for the 25-year-old because the Fortinet Championship took place in his home state, and many of his family members and friends were there to cheer him on. After lifting his trophy, Theegala said that this triumph still doesn’t feel real and that it’s going to take a while for the news to sink in. "There was a lot of good golf, and that was probably the most fun I've had on a golf course in my life… This feeling is incredible and I couldn't have done it without my whole team and everyone out here. It's a team effort and for me to put it together like this means the world," he explained.
