San Francisco Giants Extend Their Winning Streak To 10 Games

The San Francisco Giants have been on fire this season, and their winning streak reached double digits on Wednesday nights. The Giants defeated the San Diego Padres to score their tenth win in a row, thus keeping their longest winning streak since 2004. The Giants easily cruised past the Padres 4-2, and the controversial overturned call at home plate in the fifth played a crucial role in their victory. This moment was the game’s turning point, and San Diego manager Bob Melvin was even ejected for arguing the call. Catcher Blake Sabol addressed their winning streak after the game and said it feels good to be on a roll after a slow start to the season. “At the beginning of the year, we started off cold and it felt like everything was going against us. I think that’s just baseball. For us, it’s just keep putting one foot in front of the other and just focus on the next pitch and the next game,” said Sabol. The Giants managed to make a glorious comeback after losing three straight at Arizona and went on to win 25 of 34 games. Their latest victory marks their tenth consecutive triumph, and it's the franchise’s longest winning streak since 2004.
