Saudi Arabia To Host Its First Pro Tennis Event, Next Gen ATP Finals

From golf to football, Saudi Arabia is taking the world of sports by storm, and professional tennis is the next one in line. The Next Gen ATP Finals will take place in Jeddah, marking the first time in history Saudi Arabia served as a host of a professional tennis event. The Next Gen ATP Finals will be held at the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah over the course of five days, between November 28 and December 2. Matches will be played on an indoor hard court, and $2 million in prize money will be up for grabs. Five successful editions of this tournament previously took place in Milan, Italy, before the Saudi Tennis Federation made a successful bid for Jeddah to become its new host. This tournament is best known for attracting the world’s best 21-and-under players, and past champions Stefanos Tsitsipas, Jannik Sinner, and Carlos Alcaraz used it as a stepping stone on their rise to the top. ATP Chairman Andrea Gaudenzi announced their decision to unite with the Saudi Tennis Federation and said they’re looking forward to building on the event’s incredible success together. “The ATP Tour is truly global and exploring new markets is central to growing the game. Bringing the Next Gen ATP Finals to Jeddah is our chance to inspire new fans, in a region with a vast young population, and unite audiences around tennis,” said Gaudenzi in a statement.
