Saudi Club Al-Hilal Make $332 Million Offer for PSG Star Kylian Mbappe

After failing to sign Lionel Messi, Saudi Arabian team Al-Hilal set their eyes on another Paris Saint-Germain star. They reportedly made a record-breaking €300 million bid for Kylian Mbappe, and PSG has given them formal permission to open negations with their star player. Mbappe’s future with PSG has been uncertain for quite some time, but he still has a year left on his contract. Given the fact he refused to sign an extension and wasn’t selected for the team’s pre-season tour to Japan, PSG bosses would rather sell Mbappe before his contract expires instead of seeing him leave for free next season. Several major teams already expressed interest in the 24-year-old France captain, including Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham, Inter Milan, and Barcelona. His eyes seem to be set on Real Madrid, but Al-Hilal’s offer throws a wrench into his transfer plans. If signed, Mbappe’s proposed contract would break the transfer record of $262 million that PSG paid for Neymar for his transfer from Barcelona in 2017. It’s also been rumored that Mbappe would receive a $776 million salary, and he’d be able to join Real Madrid in 2024. Mbappe is yet to publicly address this offer, but he briefly commented on it by responding to NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo’s tweet "Al Hilal you can take me. I look like Kylian Mbappe," with a series of laughing emojis.
