Seattle Seahawks’ Russell Wilson Denies Trade Rumors

Russell Wilson spent almost a decade playing for the Seattle Seahawks, and he’s not planning to leave anytime soon. The quarterback denied ongoing rumors about this potential trade and said he’s hoping he’ll get to spend 20 years of his career in Seattle. Wilson said he’s aware of the trade rumors during his weekly news conference on Thursday but described them as “non-story”, adding he’s focused on his future with the Seahawks. “Hopefully I get to play here for 20 years of my career. Will that happen? I don’t know. But that’s my prayer. That’s my hope… I love this place, I love this space. I love where my mind’s at. I love where our team’s at. I think we can be better, you know, in this journey,” said Wilson. The quarterback’s current four-year contract is worth $140 million, and he’s determined to complete it. The rumors about his potential trade started circling around after the reporter Jordan Schultz tweeted that he “would strongly consider waiving his no-trade clause for the Giants, Broncos, and Saints.” Wilson joined Seattle Seahawks in 2012, and he’s been with the team ever since, winning one Super Bowl along the way. His most recent season was plagued by injuries, and he missed several games, ending his streak of 149 consecutive games started for the Seahawks.
