Steven Stamkos Scores His 1,000th Point As Lightning Beat Flyers

Steven Stamkos helped the Tampa Bay Lightning defeat the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday, but that wasn’t the only thing that made this match special. With one of the assists to Nick Paul, Stammer reached a major milestone, scoring his 1,000th NHL point. The Lightning scored a confident win on Thursday night, easily defeating the Flyers 4-1. Nick Paul was one of the players leading Tampa Bay to victory by netting two goals, while Ian Cole and Ross Colton both scored once, leading Lightning to their seventh win in nine games. Even though Stamkos didn’t score any goals on Thursday, he was one of the game’s shiniest stars. By assisting on Paul’s second goal, he scored his 1,000th career point, becoming just the second member of the Lightning to reach this mark. Stamkos spent his entire career with Tampa Bay, winning two back-to-back Stanley Cups in 2020 and 2021, and his long history with the club made this milestone even more amazing. "It's an individual statistic, but there's so many people that have helped me get here, from the players I played with in the past… Just to share that with the guys on the ice, that's something you never dream of as a kid. So, for it to become a reality is pretty awesome," said Stamkos.
