Super Bowl LVII: Chiefs Defeat Eagles, Patrick Mahomes Named MVP

The Kansas City Chiefs came into this season as one of the underdogs, but that didn’t stop them from taking the Super Bowl trophy home. They defeated the Philadelphia Eagles to win their second title in four years, while Patrick Mahomes was named the NFL MVP. Super Bowl LVII was an emotional rollercoaster for everyone involved, and the Chiefs trailed for much of the game, entering the final quarter 27-21 down. They managed to make a glorious comeback with just eight seconds on the clock, thanks to Harrison Butker’s 27-yard field goal that led them to a 38-35 win. It was also a big night for the team’s quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who was previously named the NFL MVP. He became the first quarterback since 1999 to win the NFL MVP award and Super Bowl title in a single year, in addition to being named the Super Bowl MVP. This marks the second win for Kansas City during the Mahomes era, and the Chiefs coach Andy Reid praised him for always striving to be the greatest and make those around him better. "He wants to be the greatest player ever. That's the way he goes about his business. And he does it humbly. There's no bragging. He can stand up here and give you these stats he's had, but he's never going to do that. This is not him,” said Reid. The Kansas City Chiefs previously won Super Bowl LIV in 2020, and made it to the finals one year later, but lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
