Tampa Bay Rays' Historic Winning Streak Ends with a Loss to Blue Jays

The Tampa Bay Rays managed to go undefeated for 13 consecutive games, but all good things must come to an end. Their winning streak finally ended with a defeat to the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday night. The Rays were just one game away from breaking the modern MLB record for most consecutive undefeated games, but they finally found their match in the Blue Jays. They managed to beat them 6-3 at Rogers Centre, thus ending their season-opening undefeated stretch. The second baseman Brandon Lowe, who’s been with the Rays since 2018, reflected on their defeat and said that "losing always sucks", but he believes they can get back on track. “The 13 straight, winning the way that we did, it’s great. I think 162-0 was probably out of the question, but it was a great run. The best thing about losing a streak is you get to start a new one," said Lowe post-game. Despite their loss to the Blue Jays, Tampa Bay managed to write their name in the history books after winning 13 games in a row. They’re the third team in modern MLB history to do so, tying the record with the 1982 Atlanta Braves and 1987 Milwaukee Brewers.
