The 49ers Set to Face Eagles in NFC Championship Game After Beating Cowboys

The Super Bowl LVII is just a few weeks away, and there are only four teams left in the race for the title. The San Francisco 49ers became one of them after beating the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday to book a meeting with the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship Game. The 49ers won their 12th straight game against the Cowboys, scoring a comfortable 19-12 victory on Sunday. It was a big night for San Francisco’s quarterback Brock Purdy, who completed 19-of-29 passes for 214 yards, and became only the third quarterback since 1970 to win two playoff games in his rookie season. Purdy stepped in as a replacement for Jimmy Garoppolo in Week 13, but will he recover by the time the NFC Championship Game rolls around? The head coach Kyle Shanahan said he would be surprised to see him return, so it’s likely Purdy will remain the 49ers’ starting quarterback for the rest of the postseason. The 49ers will clash with the Eagles on January 29 at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, for a chance to win the NFC Championship Game and book a spot in the Super Bowl. The AFC Championship Game will be played on the same night at the Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Cincinnati Bengals. The winners of these matches will come face to face at the Super Bowl LVII on February 12, taking place at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
