The Red Sox Defeat the New York Yankees in the AL Wild Card Game

The historic rivalry between the Red Sox and the New York Yankees continued at the latest AL Wild Card Game, and only one team could come out victorious. Boston left their biggest rival in the dust on Tuesday and scored a major 6-2 win that vaulted them into the AL Division Series. Despite Gerrit Cole’s best efforts to lead the Yankees to another victory, the Red Sox weren’t giving in. They managed to maintain the lead thanks to the home runs from Xander Bogaerts and Kyle Schwarber, and eventually scored another major win against their biggest rival. Following this victory, Boston advanced to the division series against the Tampa Bay Rays. Their face-off will take place on Thursday night at Tampa’s home stadium Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. Red Sox manager Alex Cora is aware they won’t be able to score another easy win this time around. "Now, we go to the next one, and we've just got to be ready to face a great baseball team. Coming into the season, everybody talked about them being the best team in the big leagues, and we have a huge challenge. But we're ready for it," Cora told the reporters after Boston’s triumph against the Yankees.
