Tiger Woods Says “As Of Right Now” He Is Planning to Play Masters

Tiger Woods fueled comeback speculations after he was spotted practicing at the Augusta National golf course, and it turns out there’s some truth to these rumors. The legendary golfer said that “as of right now” he’s planning to participate in this week’s Masters. Woods’ announcement comes shortly after he said that he’s going to make “a game-time decision” on whether he’ll compete or not, as he continues his preparation and practice. This would mark his first PGA event since 2020 and the first since his near-fatal car crash in 2021 when he sustained multiple leg injuries. Woods shared his plans for the future during a news conference on Tuesday and said he’d like to join the tournament, but he’s yet to officially confirm his decision. "I love competing, and I feel like if I can still compete at the highest level, I'm going to, and if I feel like I can still win, I'm going to play. But if I feel like I can't, then you won't see me out here. I don't show up to an event unless I think I can win it,” said Woods. The 2022 Masters Tournament is taking place between April 7-10 at the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia, and Woods would come into the competition as a five-time champion.
