Tom Brady Retiring “For Good” After 23 NFL Seasons

Tom Brady took us on an emotional rollercoaster when he retired and then promptly unretired last year, but it seems he’s finally ready to say goodbye. The record-breaking Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback announced he’s retiring “for good” after 23 seasons in the NFL. Brady’s announcement comes exactly a year after he said he was retiring, only to change his mind 40 days later. He returned to the Buccaneers for the 2022 season, which proved to be quite disappointing for Tampa. They failed to make it to the playoffs after losing to the Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card Round, marking the first time since 2013 that Brady lost in the playoffs in consecutive seasons. Brady announced his retirement in a video he shared on social media, and said he won’t give us a super-emotional retirement essay because he already used it up last year. “Thank you guys so much - to every single one of you for supporting me. My family, my friends, my teammates, my competitors; I could go on forever, there's too many. Thank you guys for allowing me to live my absolute dream. I wouldn't change a thing. Love you all," said Brady in his retirement video. Brady set many major records during his 23-year-long tenure in the NFL, winning seven Super Bowl titles along the way. He also has the most Super Bowl appearances (10), Super Bowl MVPs (five), playoff starts (48), playoff wins (35), playoff passing yards (13,400), and playoff passing touchdowns (88).
