Victor Wembanyama Scores Career-Best 38 Points Against Phoenix Suns

Victor Wembanyama is one of the most promising rookies to make an NBA debut in recent years, and he’s living up to expectations. He scored a career-best 38 points during the best performance of his young career, leading the San Antonio Spurs to an epic win against the Phoenix Suns. The Spurs defeated the Suns 132-121 on Thursday night, and Wemby was one of the players who made it all possible. He was dominant on every front, scoring 38 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and one steal, eventually making 15 of his 26 shots. The rookie sensation is only five games into his NBA career, but he’s already conducting himself as a seasoned player, but he believes that the whole team deserves credit for their latest victory. “The NBA’s got the greatest athletes on Earth. But so far, it’s working out pretty well. Every game, we try to find the sweet spot where we need to hurt them. Today, it might be this way; tomorrow, it might be someone else. It’s how great teams work,” said Wembanyama post-game. The 19-year-old was selected first overall by the San Antonio Spurs in the 2023 NBA draft. He also plays basketball for the French national team and has led them to several notable wins at the youth level.
