Warriors Defeat Celtics to Win NBA Finals, Curry Named Finals MVP

The Golden State Warriors were on fire since the start of the season, and they didn’t let their guard down in the NBA Finals. They won their fourth title in eight seasons after defeating the Boston Celtics in Game 6 on Thursday night, with Stephen Curry being crowned the Finals MVP for the first time. The Warriors scored a 103-90 win in the title-clinching Game 6 against the Celtics at the TD Garden in Boston. Curry finished the game with 34 points, and an 11-person media panel unanimously voted him the Finals MVP, marking this the first time he won this title. This also marks the Warriors’ fourth championship since Curry joined the team. He said that this one feels special because they faced many obstacles this season, from injuries to changing of the guard and the rosters. "This one hits different for sure… Carrying the belief that we could get back to this stage and win even if it didn't make sense to anybody when we said it. All that stuff matters and now we've got four championships ... it's special," said Curry post-game. This is the Warriors’ first title since 2018, marking an epic two-year turnaround for the team after they finished the 2019-20 season with their worst NBA record before the season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
