Warriors Regain Top Spot in NBA After Beating Suns on Christmas

The Golden State Warriors and the Phoenix Suns are two of the leading teams in the NBA right now, and their Christmas face-off was one for the books. Despite playing short-handed, the Warriors managed to beat the Suns 116-107 and regained the top spot in the NBA. It was another epic night for Stephen Curry, who scored a game-high 33 points on Saturday night. He was followed by Otto Porter Jr. with 19 points, and Warriors coach Steve Kerr praised him for giving it his all on the court. “I drew up every play, I completely organized every aspect of it,” said Kerr jokingly and then added, “Otto was great. He's just added so much to our team with his shooting from that position and his rebounding and defense.” The Suns had their chances, but they simply couldn’t stand their ground to the Warriors this time. Chris Paul topped the scoreboard with 21 points and eight assists, followed by Deandre Ayton with 18 points and Mikal Bridges with 17. It wasn’t such a great night for the team’s leading scorer Devin Booker, who finished the game with just 13 points. What makes the Warriors’ latest win even more impressive is the fact they were severely short-handed, with Andrew Wiggins, Damion Lee, and Jordan Poole all missing the game due to health and safety protocols.
