Will Zalatoris Scores First PGA Tour Win at FedEx St Jude Championship

Will Zalatoris spent the past two years desperately trying to score his very first PGA Tour win, and that moment is finally here! The American golfer was crowned the winner of the FedEx St Jude Championship after beating Austria's Sepp Straka. Zalatoris managed to defeat Straka on the third play-off hole, and this victory was a long time coming for the 26-year-old golfer. He made his Masters Tournament debut last year and finished second, and he’s been waiting for his first PGA Tour victory ever since. "It's kind of hard to say 'about time' when you're in your second year on Tour but (it's) about time. Considering all the close finishes that I've had this year, to finally pull it off means a lot,” said Zalatoris. This triumph comes after somewhat of a rocky week for the American golfer. He made headlines last week after firing his caddie Ryan Goble mid-tournament. Their partnership led to eight top 10 finishes for Zalatoris, but he felt it was time for a change after having a few rough months together that started to affect their relationship. The FedEx Cup Playoffs are in the full swing right now, and St Jude Championship is only the first event in the series of three. It will be followed by the BMW Championship in Wilmington, Delaware and Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia.
