World Cup 2022: England and United States Reach Round of 16 After Topping Group B

England and United States entered this year’s World Cup as front-runners in Group B, and they lived up to the expectations. England topped the group with two points ahead of the USA, and both teams advanced to the round of 16 following their wins on Tuesday. England scored its most recent win against Wales, beating them 3-0, mostly thanks to Marcus Rashford, who scored two goals for his side. England has been on the roll since the beginning of the tournament, kicking things off with a 6-2 against Iran, but their match with the United States resulted in a surprising 0-0 draw. As for Team USA, they advanced to the knockout stage after beating Iran 1-0 thanks to Christian Pulisic's sole goal. This marks their very first win at this year’s World Cup after both their matches against Wales and England resulted in a draw. Teams from Group A also played their last matches on Tuesday, with the Netherlands and Senegal making it to the last 16. The United States and the Netherlands will play the first match in the round of 16 on December 3, while England is set to face Senegal one day later. The rest of the fixtures will be determined when the group stage concludes on Friday.
