WWE Legend Triple H Officially Announces His Retirement

Triple H's WWE appearances have been few and far between in the past few years, and he’s not busy plotting a comeback. One of the biggest wrestling stars of his generation officially announced his retirement from in-ring competition due to a serious heart condition. Triple H, whose real name is Paul Levesque, discussed his future prospects with Stephen A. Smith on ESPN's “First Take” and revealed he doesn’t intend to go back to the ring. This announcement comes months after he underwent a serious heart surgery last September. "I will never wrestle again. First of all, I have a defibrillator in my chest, which, you know, probably not a good idea for me to get zapped on live TV," explained Triple H. Levesque made his WWE debut in 1995 and went on to become a 14-time world champion in the years to come. He later found huge success behind the scenes as the executive vice president for global talent strategy and development of WWE, in addition to founding his own wrestling brand NXT. Triple H's retirement from in-ring competition doesn’t come as a shocker because it’s been years since his last match. His final official wrestling match in front of a live audience took place at the Super ShowDown in 2019, and he only made sporadic appearances in the years to come.
