Wyndham Clark Wins First PGA Tour Title at Wells Faro Championship

Wyndham Clark’s journey to his first PGA Tour title was plagued with many obstacles, but he finally crossed the finish line. The American golfer finally lifted his first PGA Tour trophy at the Wells Faro Championship in North Carolina this weekend. Clark didn’t exactly come into the tournament as one of the front-runners, but that didn’t stop him from leaving the competition in the dust. He came into the final round with a two-shot lead and stood his ground to finish four shots ahead of Xander Schauffele, after scoring a three-under 68 to finish on 19 under. Clark’s road to his first PTA Tour title wasn’t an easy one, and he faced many professional and personal hardships along the way. He made the PGA Tour in 2018 and only finished second once – at the Bermuda Championship in 2020 – as he struggled to deliver under pressure. "It's been a long five years to get to this point, it was well worth the wait and I'm so grateful. There are so many times I wanted to cry and break clubs - and I did break the club sometimes - in this journey and to get to this point is so sweet. It's just amazing to finally do this," said Clarke.
