Xander Schauffele Leads Team US to Ninth Consecutive Presidents Cup Win

We’re used to the team United States taking the trophy home at the end of the Presidents Cup, and they didn’t leave us disappointed this year. They scored their ninth consecutive victory thanks to Xander Schauffele, who took them over the finish line. The US scored a commanding 17½-12½ win over the international team, but Schauffele wasn’t the only golfer responsible for this win. His game against Corey Conners was just the icing on the cake, but Jordan Spieth, Patrick Cantlay, and Tony Finau also helped Team US lift the trophy by winning their matches. US Presidents Cup captain Davis Love III praised the team for landing another victory and looked back at how difficult it was to pick the winning roster with so many star players on board. “You’ve seen it in what we’ve done the last five or six teams. We don’t just hide people or make a guy sit out two days in a row or all day in the Ryder Cup. So it’s mixing and matching and making sure everybody gets in the game and keeps the momentum going,” said Love. The 2022 Presidents Cup took place at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, from September 22–25, and this marks the twelfth win for the United States team.
