Carlos Alcaraz Beats Novak Djokovic at Riyadh Season Tennis Cup

The rivalry between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic is heating up, and they came face to face in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday night. The Spanish rising star defeated Djokovic at this exhibition match and walked away with the Riyadh Season Tennis Cup trophy. Alcaraz and Djokovic clashed in Riyadh on Wednesday, taking part in the exhibition tournament which serves as a dress rehearsal for the Australian Open. They were both on top of their game, but Alcaraz eventually came out victorious, beating Djokovic 4-6 6-4 6-4, after the current no. 1 lost his serve at the start of the second set. Despite losing to Alcaraz, the 24-time Grand Slam winner had nothing but words of praise for the young player and called him the future of tennis. " It's impressive, at such a young age, what he has achieved. It's fantastic to have Alcaraz in our sport. He is one of the leaders of this sport today and he is going to carry our sport for the next 10 to 15 years, we are going to see a lot of him. Tennis is in good hands," said the Serbian tennis champion. Djokovic will enter the upcoming Australian Open as the reigning champion, while Alcaraz has no points to defend after withdrawing from last year’s tournament.
