Champions League: Liverpool Defeats Inter Milan with Two Late Goals

Liverpool’s latest Champions League match saw them face Inter Milan on Wednesday, and they made a huge step towards the quarter-finals. The Reds managed to come out victorious after scoring two late goals that gave them the advantage against Inter. The game kicked off with a pretty uneventful first half, as both teams failed to put goals on the scoreboard. The tide turned for Liverpool in the second half, and they managed to score a 2-0 win thanks to two fantastic goals from Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah. Both goals came pretty late in the game, with just 15 minutes on the clock. Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp acknowledged the fact this wasn’t an easy game to win but praised the players for finding a way to turn things around in the second half. "It was an incredibly physical game so we had to find a way... We didn't have a brilliant day but a good enough day to be deserved winners because we scored two wonderful goals,” said Klopp after the game. This victory propelled Liverpool to the Champions League quarter-finals, but they’ve still got a long way to go. The draw for the quarter-finals will be held on March 18, with the games being played in two legs taking place on April 5-6 and April 12-13.
