Emma Raducanu’s Struggles Continue As She Looks For Fifth Coach in 15 Months

Emma Raducanu established herself as one of the biggest stars in the world of tennis with the US Open win in 2021, but it was all downhill from there. The British teen is struggling to stay on top of her game, and she’s currently searching for her fifth coach in just 15 months. Dmitry Tursunov is Raducanu’s latest coach to get the boot, and he joins Nigel Sears, Andrew Richardson, and Torben Beltz – all of whom left her team in the past 15 months. Tursunov started working with the British teen this summer, and rumor has it he’s the one who decided not to extend his trial period into a long-term collaboration. Raducanu won eight out of 15 matches since joining forces with Tursunov. Her rotating roaster of coaches raised some eyebrows, but she’s confident it’s the right choice. “That is definitely a journey [where] I’m learning on the way but it’s just what works for me as an individual. It might not work for anyone else and people might look at me like I’m crazy but I trust my own decision-making and my own beliefs of what I think is right for myself,” the 19-year-old tennis player told WSJ magazine. Raducanu is currently on the lookout for a new coach, and it’s been reported that Andy Murray's former physical trainer joined her team following Tursunov’s departure.
