Giannis Antetokounmpo Scores 44 Points in Bucks' Epic Win Over Lakers

The latest game between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Los Angeles Lakers should’ve been the clash of the titans, but the Bucks won it pretty easily thanks to Giannis Antetokounmpo. He obliterated the competition by scoring 44 points, leading his team to a convincing 131-116 victory. The Bucks were on fire since the beginning of the game, hitting 70% of their shots until late in the first half, leading 78-56 at halftime. Giannis topped the scoreboard with 44 points on 17-for-20 shooting, in addition to having 14 rebounds and eight assists. “I know I’m going to try to get my teammates involved and look for the best way to help the team, but sometimes when you start making shots, you feel better about yourself, you defend better. Today was one of those games,” said Giannis after the game. He had great support from his teammates, especially Khris Middleton, who scored his 21 points in the first half alone. Bobby Portis was also among the game’s top scorers for Milwaukee, with 23 points and five 3-pointers. The Lakers relied heavily on LeBron James and Anthony Davis, who netted 27 and 22 points respectively, but the team’s coach Frank Vogel admitted he wasn’t satisfied with their overall defensive performance. He said they started the last two games with a “terrible defensive half” and added they have to get it right in the future.
