Giannis Antetokounmpo Signs $186 Million Extension with Milwaukee Bucks

The Milwaukee Bucks wouldn’t be the team they are today without Giannis Antetokounmpo, and he’s not going anywhere. The two-time MVP signed a three-year extension with his NBA team, reportedly worth $ 186 million. Antetokounmpo will stay under his current contract for two more seasons, and his extension will kick off with the 2025-26 season. His salary will increase each year, and it’ll be capped at the $66.8-million player option in the final year. There was a lot of talk about Antetokounmpo’s future with the Bucks long before he signed this extension. He made it pretty clear he’d only stay with the organization long-term if the team stayed competitive following two disappointing back-to-back playoff exits since winning the NBA championship in 2021. “I said that it did not make sense to sign the contract right now because money’s not important. So I’m going to sign it next year… But at the end of the day, I want to be a Milwaukee Buck for the rest of my career, as long as we are winning. It’s as simple as that,” said Antetokounmpo earlier this year. The Greek Freak has been with the Bucks since 2013, and he won two MVP titles and received seven All-Star selections during his time with the team.
