LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo Chosen as 2024 All-Star Game Captains

LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo were in charge of leading last year’s All-Star Game, and they’re back at it again! Los Angeles Lakers star and Milwaukee Bucks forward will be in charge of serving as captains of their respective conferences for the second year in a row. This marks LeBron James’s 20th straight All-Star Game selection, and this number is quite historic. He broke the record he previously shared with the NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most All-Star selections in NBA history. This also marks the seventh time in a row he served as a captain of an All-Star Game team. James will be in pretty good company since the West Conference starting five also includes Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokić, Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant, Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Dončić, and Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. As for Giannis Antetokounmpo, he’s serving as the All-Star Game captain for the third time, and this is his eighth overall selection. He’ll be joined by Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid, Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum, Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton, and Bucks guard Damian Lillard as the Eastern Conference starters. The reserves will be announced on February 1, while the 2024 NBA All-Star Game itself will take place at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on February 18.
