He was just 36 points away from breaking Abdul-Jabbar’s record, and he crossed the finish line by scoring 38 points in the Lakers’ 133-130 defeat to Oklahoma City. The NBA veteran made a speech during a brief break that honored his achievement and credited his fans for this success. "Everybody that has ever been a part of this run with me the last 20-plus years, I want to say thank you so much because I wouldn't be me without all of you. You all helped.
