Liverpool Survive Fulham to Reach League Cup Final with Chelsea

Liverpool holds the record for the most League Cup titles, with nine victories - and they’ve set their eyes on another one! The Reds will be competing for their tenth League Cup trophy against Chelsea after scoring a narrow semi-final win in a tense face-off with Fulham on Wednesday. Liverpool got an early lead thanks to Luis Diaz’s epic opener and managed to stand their ground against Fulham in the first half. Things came crashing down when Issa Diop scored an equalizer pretty late into the game, but Liverpool eventually managed to clinch a 3-2 aggregate success and win the game. Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp doesn’t take their latest win for granted, and he acknowledged the fact that defeating Fulham wasn’t easy because they came into the match determined to make it to the final. "They are all exceptional and they all worked extremely hard. This was not the night to shine, this was the night to qualify for a final. You heard from Marco Silva how much reaching a final would mean for Fulham, we had to prove and we did,” Klopp told Sky Sports. With their win against Fulham, Liverpool set up a Carabao Cup final meeting with Chelsea on February 25 at the iconic Wembley Stadium.
