Mark Andrews Inks $56 Million Extension with Baltimore Ravens

Mark Andrews has been with the Baltimore Ravens since the beginning of his professional career, and he won’t be packing his bags anytime soon. The tight end signed a four-year extension with his current team, reportedly worth $56 million. According to ESPN, the $56 million deal also includes $37.6 million in guaranteed money, and Andrews is expected to be paid a total of $26.6 million by March next year. The new deal puts Andrews’ average annual salary at $14 million, which means he’s the third best-paid tight end in the NFL, right behind the San Francisco 49ers' George Kittle and Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs. General manager of the Ravens, Eric DeCosta, confirmed Andrews’ deal in an official statement and explained why they want to keep him on board as long as possible. "Mark is exactly the type of player we wish to keep as a Raven long-term. He's competitive, passionate, talented, and a leader. We are so excited to have him in Baltimore for the next five years," said DeCosta. Andrews played college football for the University of Oklahoma before joining the Baltimore Ravens in 2018, and he’s been with the team ever since. He’s been very vocal about his desire to stay with the Ravens and stated “I want to be here for the rest of my life” when discussing his contract with The Athletic back in June.
