Max Verstappen Reflects on His Best and Worst Moments of 2023

2023 has been a record-breaking year for Max Verstappen, and he gave us many memorable moments throughout the most recent Formula 1 season. The World Champion recently set down for an interview with Motorsport, and looked back at his best and worst races of the year, from Japan to Azerbaijan. Verstappen only suffered three losses this season - in Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, and Singapore - so it doesn’t come as a shocker that he picked one of these races as his worst of the season. "The worst one was still Baku. I was just not being happy with how everything was going… The car was very new and that was also a street circuit which has 90-degree corners, so you might anyway want a little different behavior from the car," explained Verstappen. His Red Bull teammate Sergio Pérez was crowned as the winner at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, while Verstappen finished second, ahead of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc. When it comes to his best race, the Dutch driver opted for the Japanese Grand Prix. He told Motorsport it was unbelievable to drive from lap one, adding that qualifying “was really nice to drive” balance-wise. Verstappen won his third World Championship title this year and set records for the most wins in a season and the most consecutive wins in the Formula 1 history.
