Novak Djokovic Wins His First Title Since Wimbledon at Tel Aviv Open

We haven’t seen Novak Djokovic win a title ever since his victory at Wimbledon, but he’s finally back to the top form. The 21-time Grand Slam winner scored his first title in months after defeating Marin Cilic in the final of the Tel Aviv Open. Serbian tennis player barely broke a sweat while playing against Cilic and ended up scoring an easy 6-4, 6-3 victory. He entered the Tel Aviv Open as the top seed and defeated the likes of Roman Safiullin and Vasek Pospisil on his path to the final. One hour and 35 minutes on the court was all it took for Djokovic to secure the 89th title of his career and he was very pleased with his performance in Tel Aviv. "I played some very good tennis, I think… I hadn't played a tournament in three months so it was really extra motivation for me to really do well, particularly because people have been so friendly and so supportive of me throughout the week," said Djokovic after the match. This is Djokovic’s first title since Wimbledon, where he lifted his seventh trophy at this tournament after defeating Nick Kyrgios. Since winning his 21st Grand Slam title, he only played in the Laver Cup in London, where he ended up losing to Félix Auger-Aliassime.
