Patrick Mahomes Becomes the Fastest NFL Player to Reach 200 Touchdown Passes

Patrick Mahomes is no stranger to breaking records, and he set another one during the Kansas City Chiefs’ latest game against the New York Jets. He threw the 200th touchdown pass of his career, becoming the fastest player in NFL history to reach this impressive milestone. The all-time record was previously held by Dan Marino, who threw his 200th TD pass in his 89th NFL game with Miami in 1989. It took five fewer games for Mahomes to break this record, and he did it during his 84th game against the Jets. He also reached 51 rushing yards, breaking Alex Smith's franchise record for most rushing yards by a quarterback. Despite Mahomes’ best efforts, the Chiefs' latest face-off with the Jets was as tense as it gets. Kansas City blew a remarkable 17-point lead, and barely held on by the end of the game, narrowly beating the Jets 23-20. Sunday's game was watched by approximately 27 million viewers, making it the most-watched NFL show since Super Bowl LVII in February. The spike in viewership was credited to the “Swift effect”, as the fans of the pop superstar Taylor Swift tuned in anticipating her second appearance in the stands. She was there to support her rumored boyfriend Travis Kelce, and brought several celebrity friends along, including Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and Hugh Jackman.
