Phoenix Suns Land Kevin Durant in Blockbuster Megadeal with Brooklyn Nets

After four years with the Brooklyn Nets, Kevin Durant is gearing up to join another NBA team. The 13-time All-Star is joining the Phoenix Suns in a monumental blockbuster deal that the Nets signed just hours before Thursday's trade deadline. To get Durant on board, the Phoenix Suns were ready to let go of Mikal Bridges, Cameron Johnson, Jae Crowder, four unprotected first-round picks, and a 2028 first-round pick swap. T. J. Warren was also traded to the Suns alongside Durant. Durant isn’t the only superstar the Nets lost ahead of the trade deadline. They also traded Kyrie Irving to the Dallas Mavericks, who scored 24 points on his debut on Wednesday. He was traded along with Markieff Morris in exchange for Dorian Finney-Smith, Spencer Dinwiddie, an unprotected 2029 first-round pick, and second-round picks in 2027 and 2029. Seeing Durant and Irving go their separate ways was quite a shocker, but Irving claims there are no hard feelings between them after they had a lot of conversations about their future. “We just cared about seeing each other be (in) places we can thrive. And whether that be together or that be apart, there's never been one moment where I felt like he's been angry at me for the decisions I made, or I've been angry at him,” explained Irving.
