Premier League: Liverpool One Point Behind Man City After Defeating Arsenal

The race for the top spot in the Premier League rankings is seriously heating up, and Liverpool massively improved their chances on Wednesday night. After defeating Arsenal 2-0, they moved to within one point of current Premier League leaders Manchester City. Liverpool has been on fire in the past few weeks, and Wednesday night’s game marks their ninth consecutive Premier League win. Despite managing to score two goals against Arsenal, it was a tough game to call and things looked pretty unpredictable in the goalless first half. Liverpool switched things up after the break and ruthlessly took control, scoring two crucial goals in a matter of minutes. Diogo Jota put Liverpool ahead by scoring a goal 54 minutes into the game, and Roberto Firmino sealed the deal with another goal eight minutes later. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said it feels “really special” to win this game, but he’s not letting his guard down. Despite moving just one point behind Man City, his main focus is on winning as many games as possible because their opponents are doing the same. "I'm very excited about the team and the situation we are in but that does not change everything. We just need to keep going. We really want to enjoy the situation we are in by winning football matches," Klopp told BBC.
