Rafael Nadal Says He Might Continue Playing Beyond 2024 Season

Rafael Nadal said that 2024 will be the last season of his professional career, but it seems he’s changed his tune. Following a recent comeback at the Brisbane International, the 22-time Grand Slam winner said he could continue playing beyond 2024 if things go well. Nadal is currently gearing up for his big comeback at the Australian Open, and he recently made an appearance at the Brisbane International. He played a doubles match alongside Marc Lopez, but they lost 6-4 6-4 to Australians Max Purcell and Jordan Thompson. Despite suffering a loss in Brisbane, Nadal is entering 2024 with high hopes, and he might continue playing tennis beyond this year, but without the expectations he used to have in the past. "If I am playing well… if I am free of injuries… and if I am not having too much pain on a daily basis, if all the things together happen, why not? I don't want to say 100% that's going to be my last year, because I keep loving tennis and keep enjoying what I am doing," said Nadal. The Spanish tennis champion hasn’t played a professional match since last year’s Australian Open and took a prolonged break following a hip operation in June.
