Rory McIlroy Addresses Team Europe’s Chances Ahead of Ryder Cup

The world’s greatest golf players will unite to represent their countries at the Ryder Cup, and Rory McIlroy can’t wait for this tournament to kick off. One of the leaders of Team Europe addressed their chances in a recent interview, and he believes they’re in a really good spot. McIlroy will be one of the players representing Team Europe alongside Jon Rahm and Viktor Hovland. Their roster will also include four rookies – Ludvig Aberg, Nicolai Hojgaard, Sepp Straka, and Robert MacIntyre. Luke Donald was announced as the new captain of the European team last month, replacing Henrik Stenson. As for Team United States, Scottie Scheffler, Wyndham Clark, and Brian Harman will be representing their country, while Zach Johnson will serve as their captain. Clark will be one of the rookies on the team, along with Brian Harman, Max Homa, and Sam Burns. McIlroy believes that Team Europe is in a really good spot ahead of this tournament, which he described as one of the greatest joys of his career. “We have these experiences together and nobody can ever take them away from us. I have said this before but I am always going to be proudest of my accomplishments in the game as an individual but my most enjoyable moments, by far, are as part of the Ryder Cup team,” said McIlroy, according to The Guardian. The 2023 Ryder Cup will take place between September 29 and October 1 at Marco Simone Golf and Country Club in Guidonia Montecelio, near Rome, Italy.
